Today is the first day in ages that we have been at home with nothing to run out and do, nowhere to rush to, noone to meet up with. Its been lovely! I’d forgotten what days like this felt like. The kids have played really nicely (mostly!!) all day, and we’ve been indoors most of the day as we are all cultivating colds and feeling a bit sniffly. This afternoon, I had plans to walk to the post box and pick up some stuff from a friends house, but L fell asleep and it turned into an afternoon-long sleep, so instead of bundling him into a buggy and going out anyway, we took a deep breath, and huddled on the sofa and watched a dvd. Lovely! When L finally came to, we went for a walk and ended up going to the park for a bit too. We’re loving the autumn changes, and E collected leaves on the way home, admiring the beautiful colours.
Midway through writing the above, I realised E was meant to go to Ballet this evening…oops! Oh dear, must remember not to mention that oversight!
Bedtime was a bit manic, but managed to get them all to sleep together while reading ‘Rikki Tikki Tavi’, a story from The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. I haven’t read it for years, and really enjoyed reading it, and looked up to find them all comatose around me! Hope they don’t have nightmares about snakes and mongoose!
Finally had confirmation this evening that my Mum is coming over next week from the U.S. She hasn’t been over to the UK in about 5 yrs, and hasn’t seen the girls for about 2 yrs 😦 Its going to be a lovely time! We’re all so excited!!
