Home Baked Challenge…February

22 Feb

This was our entry for this month’s Home Baked challenge, on the theme of ‘Love’:

They are pink meringues, a random cooking choice by E, from a cookery book she got for xmas. I’ve never made meringues before so was completely amazed that they turned out amazingly, and tasted just like my Granny’s used to – crumbly on the outside, melting to a chewy centre. Very yum. They were eaten before I could venture out for whipped cream!! Need to work on the piping technique…! Oh and she refused to use an electric whisk, so they were made using my mum’s ancient rotary whisk – that must have burned some calories 😉 Luckily the recipe made loads, as couldn’t be doing with all that too often.

Everybody’s entries look fab, and very well presented and more than good enough to eat 😉 I have presentation issues and poor camera skills…I should get E to take the pics she’s probably much better at it!
