A friend and I decided last week that we were fed up of being stuck indoors with kids that have too much energy, but no stamina for the freezing weather, so we hired our local community centre for the afternoon. I spent the morning gathering huge amounts of supplies from the scrapstore, then this afternoon we unpacked into the hall, with a box of squeezy paints, a tube of glue, and off they went. Works of art were created all round 😉
Baby L had loads of fun chasing balloons, sitting in the bowl of water I’d set up for hand washing, and terrorising any small people who had food in their hand, or were silly enough to try and do their creative art stuff on the floor rather than the table. Gotta love babies on the move!
To burn off some energy, I had hired a parachute too. Didn’t quite work as planned – not enough big people to flap it about, and too many eager small people wanting to dive underneath. Practise required!!
Seriously thinking that might be the way to go…inviting people to join us doing arty things, rather than traipsing across the county during after-school hours to these art clubs with 3 grumpy children! Comments welcomed!
